I wanted to share my latest work with you. My work comes from photos of my travels. This one is 20X24 Original Oil on Stretched Canvas. It is titled, "Tropical Afternoon". Last summer I had the opportunity to present an education paper at a conference on Oahu, Hawaii. [Well, someone has to do it!!] As we drove around this most wonderful island, this one one scene I snapped and painting. Hope it brings a moment of respite to you.

A New Blogger

Hi everyone,
I am a new blogger and coming on line to chat with other artists. My work is in the visual arts and are mostly original oils on stretched canvas of seascapes, landscapes, cityscapes, still life and some experimental work. I have a web site at www.hooperart.com that shows all my current pieces. Since I retired 4 years ago from full-time professorship in the Education Dept. of a local college, I opened my own art business. I now produce, market, and show my work. My sales have been decent, especially in this down economic time.
Today, I am home and enjoying a most wonderful sunny day. We are trying to move to Florida so we can have many many sunny days, but the housing market is terrible. We have been listed for 6 weeks and have had no one to see the condo in 5 weeks 6 days of that. I am so frustrated, but I refuse to sit around and mope. I will continue my busy life until we sell. Then I will be busy moving and setting up my art business all over again.

Please write to me.
